Delicious gets overhauled

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I am incredibly excited today because my favorite social bookmarking site Del.icio.us has been completely redesigned. Most importantly the Delicious team has moved the site over to a new domain – Delicious.com. The official blog reports that many users have had trouble typing the URL correctly, this is fixed with the new domain (and I completely agree).

The entire site has been flipped from that ugly old design to a brand-spankin’ new one, which looks incredible! Delicious has switched over to a new platform, rolling out RSS feeds and API, as well as improved search and speed.

There’s a cool before & after transformation video at the Delicious blog, go check it out!

If you’re not using Delicious now, you have a reason to now!

Shake MP3 player concept

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Designer Kenneth Tay has created a unique design concept for an MP3 player. The player is shaped like an antique pocket watch, 50 mm wide and 20 thick. The player relies on kinetic energy to charge the battery, shake it continuously to charge, and one to play or pause. Songs can be transferred to and from a computer’s USB port through the player’s headphone jack, as well as being a conventional means of charging the battery.

Looks to be a very cool piece of art, hopefully it will become reality.

Brando’s food USB flash drives

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Our favorite quirky gadget maker Brando has created USB flash drives that look like real food. The drives come in an array of types of food including BBQ (pork and wings), fruit, fast food, and biscuits.

With a whopping 4GB of memory and for a mere $28, I’ll be snacking on these things for a long time.
